We have been thinking about getting a couple of rabbits, but we don't want to keep them in just a hutch, so we had an idea to build them an outdoor fenced-in pen. I've seen other people who have done this, but I'm not sure how big of an area is needed for two or three rabbits. Would a ten by ten space be sufficient?
I have never had rabbits myself but I would say the same goes for rabbits as it does with chickens. A friend recently thought her hen area was safe from predators and was quickly mistaken (she lost two in the process). I would check on how to safeguard against predators first and then worry about the size after, once you know both you can see how it will go together if you plan to build yourself or purchase something already built.
I had a rabbit as a child. My dad built a pen that was about that size. It worked fine, but I only had 1 rabbit. You could try it for starters and then build on if it is too small.
